Sanath Jayasuriya smashed the second fastest century in the Indian Premier League, ending with an unbeaten 114 off 48 balls, as Mumbai cruised to a nine-wicket victory over Chennai yesterday with 37 balls to spare.
The Mumbai crowds came to see Sachin Tendulkar but he made only 12 and it was fellow opener Jayasuriya who was in irresistible form as the home side chased Chennai's 156 for six off 20 overs.
The Sri Lankan reached his hundred off 45 balls and hit 11 sixes and nine fours.
